March 11, 2020.
The Thunder Bay Medical Society Executive along with the Thunder Bay Medical Society CME committee regret to inform you that Spring School (April 3 and 4, 2020) has been cancelled.
We felt that during this time of uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and with possibility of cases occurring locally and regionally that it be best to avoid gathering a large group of health care providers in one space. We have considered all options and determined the safest route to go is to cancel the conference.
This decision has been supported by Dr Zaki Ahmed, Chief of Staff of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Given these extenuating circumstances we hope that you will understand our decision. Further correspondence will follow in the future in regards to options that are available to possibly make up for the cancellation of this conference.
Again, many thanks for your understanding.
Sincerely
Dr Teegan Trochimchuk
Acting President, TBMS
On behalf of Dr Tony Valente, President
Dr Marlena Tassone, Vice-President
Dr Anna Laakso, Secretary
Dr Kelly Magee- Adams, Member at Large
